Where Can I Find The Best Help With Color And Design For My Bedroom?
Uncategorized November 26th, 2009I really want to try my hand at decorating my own room but I don’t know where to even begin. So any opinions, ideas, or knowledge on design that you are willing to share would be GREATLY appreciated.
I cannot decide on an overall theme, but what I have is a room about 12×10 feet with ordinary beige walls and a kind of tan-ish multiloop berber carpet. I don’t know what color would be best to paint the room, but I think I want to leave the ceiling beige.
There are a lot of orange, gold, and blue hues already in my room, and I think it would be best to find a theme that brings what I have already in here together. I just have no idea how to do that. Any kind of help you could offer me would be great. I want to start on this as soon as possible, but not until I have the whole concept put together. Thanks so much to anyone who can help me out!

Go to http://www.sherwin-williams.com and click on homeowner. Then click launch color visualizer. A new box will open, click interior and then bedroom. Then pick a bedroom from the choices there. Then you can try different colors to see how they will look on the walls and as accent colors. It’s fun to play around with and it helps give you an idea of how the color will look on the walls and with furniture. I’d suggest a shade of blue for the walls. Blue is a calming color that might help you sleep. Red and orange are colors that create excitement so it might be harder to sleep with orange walls. You could tie everything together with the gold. Have gold picture frames, mirror frame, lamp, etc.

I get most of my ideas from seeing other people’s homes and rooms, either by visiting them, seeing it online, or watching a home improvement show especially the ones where they sell the house.
MSN has a DIY Network where they feature a lot of videos on decorating and remodeling.

Depending on what you find soothing.
I love my red bedroom. we have red walls. sueded brown trim and Cream ceilings. the red makes the room soo cozy!
The rest of the furniture is deep brown and the bedding is an array of reds, golds and oranges.

Try watching HGTV or TLC for the decorating shows.
They both give lots of great ideas.
