Is there some action figure or show you are interested in?
Ice your cake with buttercream icing and then decorate it with fondant cutouts.
Get a picture of something you would would like to copy or better yet - if you have not used fondant before - make a design. Get a box of white fondant and break it out into sections and fold different food colors into each section. Use a rolling pin to roll each section out on a flat surface sprinkled with powdered sugar. Keep the sections you are not using at the time tightly wrapped in plastic wrap or in individual baggies so they do not start drying. Use cookie cutters to cut out different designs or just use a sharp knife and cut out stars, triangles circles, etc… Use vivid colors and wow them! You can make different sizes of stars or other shapes and stack them.
I’ve made a cake for a boy your age and cut out the superhero signs like Batman, Superman, Spiderman - he loved it.
Use your imagination! I’m impressed that you are giving it a try at 9.
Have fun and Enjoy!
