I’ve been asked to design a menu for a local restaurant and I need to know what to charge. I’ve thought about letting him pay in gift certificates since he’s just starting out, but again, how much is fair? I figure it will take me about 5 hours to complete with occational updates.
Thanks!

My friend and I want to move to Chicago, but she is looking for a college or university in the Chicago area (can be in the actual city or in any of the suburbs) that will offer a 2 year associates degree in fashion design. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I’ve been doing some hunting to help her out, but this isn’t my field, so I don’t even know which colleges to be looking at… or what would be good…
Thanks!

Im looking to purchase professional indemnity insurance for my web design firm. Who is the best provider? What is the best quote? What sort of costs should I be paying?
Also if we move into Internet consultancy will these insurances cover this?
And finally, what other insurance is required for this kind of business?
Thanks.

I have a medical career, but I have a passion for mechanical and other design. I have sketch books full of great inventions and improvements to current designs for everything you can think of. I really want to see some of this stuff go to market but don’t know where to start. If I see something, I can improve anything on paper. Independent investors, patent attorneys looking for artist/designers?…. any ideas?

It should be some kind of engineer but, what type? I am talking about the people who design hockey sticks, skateboards, helmets, shoulder pads, pretty much anything of that sorts.

I am applying for a new job in the graphic design field. Is it best to do a ‘design piece’ for my resume to show creativity, or just a plain white professional/standard resume? In college i was taught to keep it professional, but yet show creativity, so that is what i am leaning towards, but when i look at examples online, they all show black & white. I am going to export a PDF, & put one or two pages of portfolio work at the end aslo.

Do you have any advice/ suggestions for anyone who’s looking to go into this field?
I want to work with musicians and create their album art design. I want to be the actual person who does the design and layout structure.
ANY advice at all would help, no matter how little you may think it is. I basically don’t have anyone to help me with this, so I’m just digging for help.

What gives humans the ability to make planned, complex designs as opposed to animals? Also what drives humans to design different types of the same thing, for example a home/shelter, when animals are content with one.
Thanks,
Will.

I really want to work in a fashion magazine, and i was wondering if i can pursue a degree in journalism after completing a diploma in fashion design. I’ve heard from people that your degree should be relevant with the diploma you have attained. HELP!
