I would like to add one pop-up window to my site, which i think should close on its own after displaying for some seconds. Is it possible to design such windows? How?

just graphic design? or magazine editor? what would be a major in college
for that?
I have to develop a program that will connect to three different servers that will be streaming data at certain intervals. I then need to put all that data together and broadcast it out via UDP.
I don’t need syntax, I am looking for ideas on how to design this. Please be descriptive. (ie. Number of threads to use and what each is used for)

I really want to learn the ends and outs of affiliate marketing but it seems like everywhere I search for well rounded information for beginners they want you to spend money on they’re package that might not even work or they charge you a arm and a leg (and it still might not work). Where can i find free information about becoming an affiliate marketer?
My life long dream is to be a graphic designer for cosmo, but I know the majority of companies only hire free lancers when needed. Are there any permanent positions i could look for within a magazine that has to do with graphic design or photography?
